Module One - Managing Projects
An overview of the principles, skills and knowledge necessary to demonstrate competent performance for Project Management at AQF Level 6.
Module Two - Project Initiation
Provides an outline of the principles of project scope, planning and control.
Module Three - Time, Costs,Estimates
Focuses on the process used in developing a plan for the management of time and resources.
Module Four - Quality Management
Addresses the application of quality principles in the management of projects.
Module Five - Managing Risk
Will enable you to identify and analyse the risk associated with projects and to develop appropriate contingency plans.
Module Six - Managing Communications
Provides an overview of the skills, knowledge and procedures required to provide effective communications throughout project life cycles.
Module Seven - Leading the Team
Provides an understanding of team work, leadership and the practical application of skills in managing human resources within a project environment.
Module Eight - Managing Costs
Gain an understanding of budgets and the skills required to develop a plan for the management of finances (and other major costs) associated with a project.
Module Nine - Managing Resources
Looks into the principles required for the efficient administration and management, through contracts, of the supply of goods and services to projects.
Module Ten - Finalising the Plan
Provides a working knowledge of project management methods, techniques and tools and an understanding of the importance of integrating projects within the organisational environment.
Module Eleven - Strategic and Program Management
Addresses the skills and knowledge required to plan and manage a moderately complex program of projects, aligning and integrating the plans, schedules and budgets to meet the business objectives. The module includes knowledge of strategic planning so that there can be a sound understanding of the organisation’s business plan; the integration of a number of projects; and the integration of planning to achieve resource rationalisation, value improvement etc. The module enables the participant to provide a supporting and a leadership role for project managers in central aspects of project management, emphasising the importance of facilitated planning sessions.
Module Twelve - Quality Systems Planning and Management
Looks into the skills and knowledge required to establish and
maintain a quality system
that meets the quality requirements of clients, the organisation
and suppliers. This
involves ensuring policy, processes and procedures are in place
which enable project
managers to adopt a consistent approach to the management of quality.
It also involves
processes to enable the quality requirements of clients to be identified
and included in the
quality plan. The procedure for establishing a sound approach to
quality requirements
as an inclusion in procurement and contract processes is addressed.
Module Thirteen - Human Resource Management and Development
Provides exposure to contemporary HRM and HRD practices so that
the most effective
use may be made of staff. Includes the effective selection of staff,
development of
staff competencies, motivation of staff and the maintenance and
retention of staff. The
importance of HRM within each of the other functions of project
management is also
addressed.
Module Fourteen - Financial Planning and Management
This module provides a range of financial planning and management
tools and
techniques for achieving effective outcomes for the program and
for projects within
the program. Introduces techniques for rolling up individual project
budgets into a
program budget, and in the process, seeking to find potential for
savings and value mprovements.
Module Fifteen - Contract Management
Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to enable them to put in place effective procedures and processes for preparing, managing and closing contracts. The module also addresses procurement processes.
Module Sixteen - Strategic Risk Management
Develops a sound understanding of the risk management process as outlined in the Australian Standard AS/NZS 4360 and the skills to be able to put in place strategic and operational level risk management plans for the program of projects
Module Seventeen - Strategic Client Management
Develops the skills and knowledge to effectively manage clients
and other stakeholders. The ability to determine with some clarity
the expectations of the client (eg outcomes and quality characteristics)
is regarded as central to achieving successful project and program
outcomes.
The identification and facilitation of value improvements requires
the involvement of clients and other key stakeholders and this
requires good management
